After turning off sound schemes in Windows the system beep might start driving one crazy still:
right click->My Computer -> Properties -> Device Manager -> View -> Show hidden devices -> Non-Plug and Play Drivers -> right-click->Beep -> Properties -> Driver -> Disabled -> Ok -> Ok
Must reboot to take effect.
