Out of alll the languages I want to learn I spend the most time with Korean. I decided to start learning the alphabets of any language that interested me. It only took one day to learn the Korean characters. For some reason I was drawn to this language. I have always been intrigued by asian cultures, religions and martial arts. In the past I wanted to learn Chinese or Japanese. I imagine their characters are very intimidating. Hangul seemed more simplistic. King Sejong established a scientific way to read and write their language. I suppose he has alot to do with the reason I connected with Hangul. Also back in high school one of my skateboarding friends was Korean.

They stack on each other like this:

한국 = HanGuk (Korea)
한글 = HanGul (Korean alphabet)
Ahn Young Ha Sae Yo (Polite Hello)
안녕 = Ahn Young (Hello)
Kahm Sa Ham Ni Da (Polite Thank You)
Goh Mah Woh (Thanks)
Noh Sarang Hae (I Love you)
Mee Yan Hae (I'm Sorry)

I will venture further into this when I gather my materials. I have a few links with me now. They are not in any paticular order. If you do not know how to pronounce the Korean/Hangul alphabet, I would suggest going here first: http://langintro.com/kintro/ as i will not be posting anymore pronounciation in english as I don't want to be dependent on it. Using that site, it took me less than two hours to learn Hangul.
